Offering re-sharpening for both internal and external broaches, re-sharpened tools can be ready within 48 hours of receipt. Along with your contact information, please mark "Attn: Re-sharp" on your paperwork. Because of the back taper on the tools, the form size will change slightly so please also indicate the low limit of the tolerance for internal broaches and the high limit of the tolerance for external broaches.

Have a part but don't know its dimensions?—No problem.
As part of our commitment to solving challenging problems for our customers, Slater Tools offers reverse engineering services that enable us to design broaching tools to reproduce parts quickly and cost-effectively. No Print? No Problem! Just send us your samples and we will take care of the rest.
By utilizing the latest technology, we have the ability and talent to reverse engineer sample parts provided by our customers. Dimensional tolerances are determined by variations in sample measurements or mating parts, in conjunction with accepted engineering practices.
Through our reverse engineering services, we have helped customers across a variety of industries and have been an instrumental resource for developing and sourcing tools for unique components.
Reverse engineering may be necessary when a component or its spare parts are no longer available, or the component is failing or not functioning properly and the original manufacturer cannot provide the necessary engineering support to correct the problems. Often it is required for production of after-market parts for the automotive, aerospace, and plumbing industries. We help fill the void by generating the essential technical data and designing the proper broaching tools to manufacture the component part.

This is why Slater Tools has partnered with one of the world’s leading suppliers of PVD coatings, utilizing the highest degree of technology in all aspects of the coating process to ensure that the maximum quality coatings are deposited on the customer's tools.
| TiN | Titanium Nitride | TiN is a gold colored PVD coating made of exceptionally hard ceramic material that improves lubricity, increases hardness and enhances abrasive wear resistance leading to increased broach tool life. |
| TiCN | Titanium Carbon Nitride | TiCN is a purple-gray colored PVD coating formed by the addition of carbon to the TiN formula. The elevated hardness and low residual stress lead to excellent abrasive wear resistance. TiCN coating also increases lubricity of the broach and performs well under high load conditions. TiCN is commonly used in medical and aerospace applications broaching small forms in stainless steel and titanium materials. |
| TiAlN | Titanium Aluminum Nitride |
TiAlN is a dark gray colored PVD coating that can be used in high temperature conditions and for better lubricity. Harder than TiN, TiAlN has excellent abrasive wear resistance and is used successfully to broach many materials such as titanium, aluminum, stainless steels, and alloy steels. |

As a prescion tool manufacturer, we know the importance of proper and accurate gage calibration. This is why Slater Tools offers gage certification services for both our standard and custom designed inspection gages. Whether you need long form certificates for your ring or plug gages, Slater is your one stop shop for quality certified gages.
Our gage certification lab operates a Quality Management System accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 Standard. The gages and equipment used in performing calibrations are traceable through NIST to the International System of Units (SI). All gaging pressures and all procedures conform to ANSI/ASME B89.1.5-1998.
